Field Operator – Energy (Doha, Qatar)

About the role

The Field Operator – Energy is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, potline rectifiers and associated utility services at the plant in Doha. Working under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator, the role ensures continuous production and rapid response to any equipment abnormalities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor turbines, HRSGs and related plant equipment in a safe manner.
• Record routine parameter readings, report deviations and inform the supervisor of any abnormalities.
• Maintain standby equipment readiness for emergency situations.
• Assist with testing and re‑commissioning after maintenance outages.
• Follow emergency procedures, identify hazards and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and strive for increased competency.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School Certificate.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a power station.
• At least 2 years experience as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent.

Required skills

• English language proficiency (Intermediate level) for shift reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret single‑line diagrams.
• Basic numeracy for calculations and unit conversions.
• IT skills for data entry and reporting.
