General Surgeon

About the role

The General Surgeon will diagnose and surgically treat patients with conditions affecting the abdomen, digestive system, soft tissues, breast, thyroid, and trauma‑related injuries. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, performing both elective and emergency procedures, and ensuring high standards of post‑operative care and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage surgical patients.
• Conduct pre‑operative and post‑operative care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Participate in on‑call duties and emergency coverage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Follow hospital policies, infection‑control protocols, and quality standards.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD degree from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification / Arab Board / FRCS or equivalent in General Surgery.
• Valid QCHP/MOPH license or eligibility in Qatar.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong surgical and clinical expertise.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
