General Technician

About the role

The General Technician will ensure that all hotel facilities, equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently. Working across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces, you will provide prompt maintenance support to keep the resort running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building‑related issues.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and guests.
• Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, engineering facilities and back‑of‑house zones.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in good condition and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Report major defects, equipment failures or safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Support energy‑saving initiatives and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Adhere to all health, safety, fire and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management or a related technical field (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual maintenance tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Relevant technical qualification or vocational training is an advantage.
