Head Barista

About the role

Sheraton is looking for a Head Barista in Doha. The role covers barista operations, cash handling and reporting, and supporting the team and guests in delivering high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors.
• Complete closing reports, including MICROS reports, and record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of each order.
• Obtain change for the expected business level, keep the bank secure, count it at the end of the shift, resolve discrepancies, and drop off receipts.
• Transport the bank to and from the assigned workstation and resolve cash overages or shortages as requested by Accounting.
• Communicate with guests and colleagues so that staff work as a team and service is optimal.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating employees, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, keep proprietary information confidential and protect company assets.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally, including on the telephone.
• Ensure quality standards are met and be able to stand, sit or walk for long periods and lift objects up to 10 pounds.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
