About the role
The Head of the Drug Release Section will lead the team responsible for screening and releasing imported medicines in Qatar, ensuring compliance with the Pharmacy Act and safeguarding public health.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and manage the Drug Release Section staff.
- Ensure compliance with national pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
- Oversee inspection, sampling, and laboratory testing of imported pharmaceuticals.
- Confiscate and coordinate destruction of non‑compliant medicines.
- Conduct audits, update procedures, and drive process optimisation.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical companies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmacy (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience with regulatory bodies such as Jordan or Saudi Food and Drug Authorities is preferred.
