Head of Faculty – English

About the role

The Head of Faculty – English will lead the English department across Compass International School Doha’s secondary campuses. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape the vision for academic excellence and drive continuous improvement for both staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for the English faculty, aligning with school-wide goals.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance.
• Oversee curriculum planning, resource allocation and assessment practices to ensure rigorous standards.
• Analyse performance data, conduct self‑evaluation, and use quality‑assurance feedback to set improvement priorities.
• Facilitate professional development, share best practices and promote a learning‑focused environment.
• Engage with students, parents and the wider Nord Anglia community to enhance the educational experience.

Required profile

• Extensive teaching experience in English, preferably at secondary level.
• Proven leadership or senior management experience within an international school setting.
• Strong communication, motivational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage change, embrace feedback and drive innovation.
