Head of Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will lead the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective management of the company’s fleet, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Reporting to senior leadership, this role oversees third‑party operational providers and drives continuous improvement across marine operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and monitor operational standards for ships, guaranteeing safe and reliable service delivery.
• Provide marine operational expertise, assess operational risks, and recommend mitigations.
• Conduct port and terminal due diligence to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day marine activities for LNG, LPG, FSRU, and chartered vessels.
• Identify sub‑standard performance and evaluate alternative systems or contractors.
• Ensure cargo management meets the highest industry standards and drives compliance with international, Flag State, and company policies.
• Maintain vessel vetting processes, including timely SIRE inspections, Q88, and TMSA record management.
• Perform regular ship inspections and internal audits during calls to Ras Laffan or sailing visits.
• Prepare performance reports, defend against off‑hire claims, and monitor charter party compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in marine fleet operations, preferably with LNG/LPG/FSRU vessels.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, flag state requirements, and major oil/gas vetting systems.
• Proven ability to manage third‑party service providers and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess operational risks and drive continuous improvement.
