Head of Research and Innovation

About the role

The organization in Qatar seeks a senior leader to shape and drive its research and innovation agenda focused on women’s participation, performance, health, wellbeing and leadership through sport. The role will oversee the creation of evidence‑based programs, policies and frameworks that translate research into tangible impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive research and innovation strategy, governance framework, standards and performance metrics.
• Establish and manage a high‑quality research centre, function or platform.
• Lead research portfolios, commissioned studies, pilot projects and innovation initiatives.
• Translate research evidence into practical programs, policies, frameworks and recommendations.
• Build and maintain partnerships with universities, government bodies, sports organisations, funding agencies and industry partners.
• Oversee research budgets, external collaborations, grants, ethical compliance and data governance.
• Represent the organization at relevant research, policy and industry forums.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of experience in research, innovation, strategy or evidence‑based program development, including at least three years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience establishing and managing research centres or functions and developing their strategies.
• Relevant background in women’s sport, sport development, public health, wellbeing or performance is strongly preferred.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research expertise with the ability to translate evidence into practical outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred and a PhD is advantageous.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
