Head of Science (Physics or Biology)

About the role

Nord Anglia International School Al Khor is seeking an outstanding Head of Science with a specialism in Physics or Biology. You will lead the Science Department, shaping a vision of excellence and continuous improvement for secondary students preparing for IGCSE, AS and A‑Level examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Science curriculum, aligning it with the English National Curriculum and school objectives.
• Manage resources, curriculum planning, data analysis and performance tracking across the department.
• Foster a collaborative culture where teachers are supported, challenged and recognised.
• Lead self‑evaluation processes and use quality‑assurance feedback to set improvement priorities.
• Engage students, parents and the wider Nord Anglia community to promote science learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a teaching practitioner in Science, with the ability to step into a senior leadership role.
• Strong people‑management skills, capable of building trust, respect and motivation within a team.
• Excellent communication and motivational abilities to inspire both staff and students.
• Receptive to feedback, adaptable to change and eager to share best practice.
• Eligibility to work in Qatar, including a Bachelor’s degree and a face‑to‑face teaching qualification.
