Head of Secondary – IB MYP Leader

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a dynamic Head of Secondary to lead the newly established Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha. The role focuses on delivering the IB Middle Years Programme with a vision of academic excellence, high aspiration and international‑mindedness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the IB MYP philosophy and the school’s strategic plan.
• Champion concept‑driven, inquiry‑based teaching and learning across all secondary year groups.
• Mentor, coach and appraise a high‑performing secondary teaching team, overseeing CPD and professional growth.
• Drive whole‑school improvement through data analysis, monitoring, evaluation and self‑review processes.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and the wider community.
• Collaborate with the Principal, MYP Coordinator and senior leadership team to implement the School Improvement Plan.
• Ensure robust student welfare, pastoral care and wellbeing.
• Oversee timetabling, curriculum planning and academic reporting for the secondary phase.
• Promote student agency, the IB learner profile and international‑mindedness.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
• Significant senior leadership experience in an IB school with a proven record of school improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and inspire high‑performing teaching teams.
• Strong data literacy to use assessment information for improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• International school experience, preferably in the Middle East (desirable).
