Head of Security Operations

About the role

The Head of Security Operations will lead the enterprise’s security operations, ensuring information assets remain secure, resilient, and available. Reporting to the CISO, this senior leader will manage the Security Operations Center (SOC), incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management while shaping the broader cybersecurity strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day SOC activities, incident triage, investigation and resolution.
• Maintain and optimise security monitoring tools, SIEM and endpoint protection platforms.
• Develop and enforce operational runbooks, escalation procedures and service level agreements for incident handling.
• Define and execute a Security Operations strategy aligned with the organisation’s risk appetite and business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, threat‑intelligence integration and advanced analytics.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and business teams to design and implement secure solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing a SOC or equivalent security operations function.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance in the banking sector.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to executive stakeholders.
• Track record of developing and improving security processes, runbooks and incident‑response capabilities.
