Health and Safety Manager

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, compliant environment for students, staff, visitors and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the school’s health and safety management system, ensuring policies and procedures are understood and applied.
• Provide practical health and safety advice to school leadership, operations, facilities and teaching teams.
• Coordinate and maintain risk assessments for school activities, facilities, educational visits, events and contractors.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits across the school site.
• Lead or support incident and near‑miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Support the development and testing of emergency response arrangements, including fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergencies.
• Deliver health and safety induction, training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and monitor contractor activities on site.
• Report regularly on health and safety performance to school and regional leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience (e.g., NEBOSH International General Certificate).
• Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a school, education, facilities, hospitality or healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a school environment.
• Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Safety training (desirable).
• Experience working in Qatar or the wider GCC (desirable).
