Highway Design Technician

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Highway Design Technician to support Roads BIM coordination within the Project Delivery Teams in Qatar. The role focuses on developing, establishing, and implementing BIM workflows to produce high‑quality 3D/2D models for drawing production, quality control, coordination, and constructability analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Support the BIM Coordinator and highways delivery teams in day‑to‑day BIM implementation activities.
• Develop Civil 3D modeling and production templates for highway and road design.
• Create 3D/2D dimensional models for drawing preparation, clash reporting, and presentations, adhering to project LOD requirements.
• Extract solid models for clash analysis, schedule review, and quantity surveying.
• Generate infrastructure design layouts, profiles, sections, and cut sheets directly from the BIM model.
• Prepare highway drawings including arrangements, layouts, profiles, cross‑sections, and related details.
• Ensure Project Information Models (PIMs) are delivered according to TIDP, MIDP, and CDE protocols.
• Conduct clash detection, visual walkthroughs, and constructability analysis using BIM tools.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of experience in road and highway modeling and drafting.
• Strong understanding of roads/highways design concepts and digital delivery workflows.
