HVAC Technician

About the role

A full-time HVAC technician position at a Lusail hotel (Autograph Collection, part of Marriott International) covering guest repair requests, preventive maintenance and basic engineering work. The role is non-management and involves responding to guests' needs while keeping the property safe and running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests and customers about maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and report daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and guestroom items.
• Replace A/C filters, paint, do minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up after painting or repair work.
• Program TVs, do general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer, and follow safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and general building.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
