Inclusion Support Assistant

About the role

The Inclusion Support Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for preschool children. This role provides hands‑on assistance during daily activities, supports individual learning needs, and helps maintain classroom routines.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by assisting with lesson plans, educational games, and learning activities.
• Monitor children during play, meals, and outdoor time to ensure safety and promote positive behavior.
• Reinforce behavior management strategies and help children develop social‑emotional skills.
• Prepare and organize learning materials, displays, and resources for hands‑on activities.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free classroom, including sanitizing toys and equipment.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra help or emotional guidance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate observations or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest periods.
• Model respectful, inclusive behavior and encourage positive interaction among children.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistent teaching practices.
