Inclusion Support Assistant

About the role

The Inclusion Support Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for preschool children. This role provides hands‑on assistance during daily activities, supports individual learning needs, and helps maintain a clean and organized classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by assisting with lesson plans, educational games, and learning activities.
• Monitor children during classroom work, playtime, meals, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and promote positive behaviour.
• Reinforce classroom rules and guide children in developing social and emotional skills.
• Prepare and organise learning materials, resources, and displays.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free environment, including sanitising toys and surfaces.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra help.
• Observe children’s development and report observations to the lead teacher.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Model respectful, inclusive behaviour and encourage positive interaction among children.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistent teaching practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (required).
• TKT Training Course completion.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to follow guidance.
• Observational skills to recognise developmental milestones.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and organisational abilities.
• Adaptability to schedule changes and diverse child needs.
• Cultural sensitivity and respect for all backgrounds and abilities.
