Inclusion Teacher

About the role

The Inclusion Teacher leads a dedicated classroom for students with additional learning needs, ensuring each learner receives tailored support to engage fully with the curriculum. Working closely with subject teachers and support staff, the role fosters an inclusive environment where students with special educational needs (SEN) can thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated classroom for SEN students, adapting teaching methods, materials, and activities to individual learning styles.
• Collaborate with subject teachers and support staff to create inclusive lessons and provide additional support as needed.
• Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, documenting academic and social development.
• Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process, working with the Inclusion Coordinator, parents, and professionals to develop, implement, and review IEPs.
• Adjust teaching practices based on IEP outcomes and data‑driven insights.
• Plan and adapt curriculum content, instructional methods, and assessments to accommodate diverse abilities.
• Provide guidance to classroom teachers on modifying content for students with disabilities or learning challenges.

Required profile

• Experience working with students who have special educational needs.
• Strong understanding of the school curriculum across multiple grade levels.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, coordinators, parents, and external professionals.
• Proficiency in assessing and documenting student progress.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
