Instrumentation Engineer (MMUP/UPDA First Category)

About the role

Instrumentation Engineer responsible for design, specification and technical support of instrumentation systems on major oil & gas and power projects in Qatar. The role requires MMUP/UPDA First Category certification and extensive experience in the GCC market.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate, specify and design instrumentation equipment and systems.
• Prepare C&E diagrams, control narratives and vessel sketches.
• Review and comment on P&IDs.
• Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies and close related action items.
• Prepare requisitions, technical tabulations and vendor selection reports.
• Review 3D models and isometric drawings.
• Supervise purchase orders and design activities to meet milestones.
• Coordinate with piping, electrical, mechanical, civil and process disciplines.
• Maintain the electronic filing system (Documentum) and update hold lists.
• Monitor project schedule, budget, quality and procedural compliance.

Required profile

• Valid MMUP/UPDA First Category Engineer certification.
• 12‑15 years of instrumentation engineering experience, preferably in Qatar/GCC.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Qatar engineering standards, regulations and project requirements.
• Proven experience on large‑scale oil & gas or power projects.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and manage technical documentation.
