Instrumentation Engineer (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role focuses on maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting and optimizing instrumentation and control systems for safe and efficient plant operations within the oil and gas sector. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults related to DCS, PLC, SCADA systems, control valves, transmitters, and field instruments.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, technical drawings, and other engineering documentation for maintenance and modification activities.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to execute planned shutdowns, preventive maintenance, and project activities.
• Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with company procedures, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Prepare maintenance reports, calibration records, and technical documentation.
• Support commissioning, start‑up, and system integration activities as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in the oil & gas industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
