About the role
OISSG Consultancy is looking for an Intellectual Property Specialist to be nominated for a government‑sector assignment in Qatar. The role requires between 10 and 17 years of relevant experience and a strong background in Qatari IP legislation, including approval procedures for content publication, access, and use.
Key responsibilities
- Manage copyright and related rights for government publications.
- Develop and oversee publication and reuse licensing frameworks.
- Conduct rights clearance for digitisation and public access.
- Draft and implement IP policies and content‑use agreements.
- Ensure compliance with IP legislation for content publication, access, and use.
- Provide guidance on IP clearance for digital content.
- Coordinate with legal teams to secure IP rights.
- Monitor and advise on IP compliance for digital platforms.
Required profile
- Proven experience working with Qatari government entities and understanding of local IP legislation and approval procedures.
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, information management or a related field, plus professional certifications.
- Strong professional communication and drafting skills.
- Experience with archives, libraries or cultural collections is preferred.
