International Expansion Specialist – Banking (Qatar)

About the role

This senior position leads the bank’s international expansion agenda across China and South Korea, aiming to boost trade finance, investment banking, and foreign direct investment flows into core markets. The role supports the broader Connectivity Strategy by building on‑ground market presence and sustainable client acquisition capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the bank’s expansion initiatives in China and South Korea.
• Increase trade finance, investment banking, and FDI volumes into the bank’s core markets.
• Strengthen on‑the‑ground market presence and deepen strategic partnerships.
• Design and implement sustainable client acquisition and coverage models.
• Support the Connectivity Strategy through market entry and cross‑border business growth.

Required profile

• 12+ years of banking experience, preferably in International Banking, Corporate Banking, GTB, Trade Finance, or Strategic Business Development.
• Proven experience with international expansion, market entry, or cross‑border growth initiatives.
• Experience working with China and/or South Korea markets is preferred.
• Strong understanding of international banking ecosystems and cross‑border trade corridors.
• Ability to engage regulators, financial institutions, corporates, and strategic partners.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; Mandarin and/or Korean is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel extensively across China and South Korea.
