About the role
The IT Security Governance Officer will lead the development and enforcement of information security governance frameworks for a government entity, ensuring alignment with national regulations and international standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain security policies, standards and procedures aligned with government directives.
- Conduct risk assessments, monitor compliance, and support remediation actions across all government systems.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and prepare governance reports for senior management.
- Review third‑party and vendor security compliance for government contracts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, IT, Computer Science or related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in information security governance, risk or compliance, preferably in the public sector.
- Professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor or CRISC.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT and other recognized security frameworks.
- Experience with national cybersecurity policies, data protection laws and government regulations.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, reports and policy documents for executive audiences.
