Kitchen Steward

About the role

The Kitchen Steward ensures the kitchen and food preparation areas remain clean, safe, and hygienic. Working within an Accor hotel environment, you will support the culinary team by maintaining high standards of sanitation and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Clean cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, and kitchen equipment using industrial washers or hand washing.
• Sanitize walls, floors, workspaces, and food storage areas according to the cleaning schedule.
• Maintain hygiene in fridges, cool rooms, dry goods stores, and report any hazards to the Executive Chef.
• Remove rubbish, clean industrial bins daily, and keep waste areas free of refuse.
• Assist with ingredient assembly and basic food preparation as needed.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of the loading dock.
• Enforce hygiene regulations and support other kitchen duties.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a similar kitchen or stewarding role (preferred).
• Physically fit, able to stand for an 8‑hour shift and lift items over 10 kg.
• Strong organizational skills and efficient time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays when required.
