Laundry Attendant

About the role

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for operating and monitoring all washing, dry‑cleaning and drying equipment at The St. Regis Residence. The role ensures that linens and guest garments are processed efficiently, inspected for quality, and returned to service in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machines, add chemicals, set appropriate times and temperatures, and clean lint traps and filters after each load.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide on rewash, spot‑treatment, repair or discard.
• Inspect cleaned articles for quality, fold them to designated sizes by hand or using a folding machine, and place them in clean linen carts.
• Maintain accurate records of all items laundered and report any safety or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety, security and uniform policies, and support a positive team environment.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for an entire shift and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Comfort working in narrow, confined or elevated spaces and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Willingness to adhere to quality standards, safety procedures and confidentiality requirements.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machinery.
• Use of folding machines and manual folding techniques.
• Accurate record‑keeping of laundered items.
