Lead, Contracts

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Lead, Contracts to join its team in Doha, Qatar. The role prepares and assists with corporate and buildings-related project contracts, making sure they align with each project's needs.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and agree all variations, change orders or concession requests with the contractor or consultant, and prepare submissions with them and with the requesting department for the Tender Committee's approval.
• Prepare financial statements during the contract period showing the financial position of the assigned departments.
• Monitor contract progress and the work of the awarded contractor, consultant or stakeholder, liaising with the relevant department to ensure compliance.
• Take action or escalate when the contract is not being followed.
• Review disputes with contractors on project procurement and contracts, and negotiate and recommend ways forward to resolve them.
• Prepare and assist with project-related contracts aligned to project needs.
• Prepare timely and accurate MIS statements and reports, and perform other duties as needed while managing priorities with minimal guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar discipline; other related contract certifications preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar position, covering infrastructure projects, particularly in the real estate environment.
• Extensive experience awarding and managing infrastructure contracts.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of infrastructure tendering and contract processes, commercial, technical and legal.
• Specific knowledge of local infrastructure contract laws and other applicable contractual terms.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of management processes, tools and techniques, and ability to manage time and priorities.
• Able to build strong relationships with project managers, contract management teams and suppliers/contractors.
