Lead Planning Engineer - Offshore

About the role

The Lead Planning Engineer will drive the development, maintenance and control of integrated project schedules for large offshore EPC programmes. Reporting to senior project management, you will ensure that all planning activities are aligned across engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore execution phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Create detailed Work Breakdown Structures, baselines, milestones and resource‑loaded schedules.
• Track project progress, identify deviations and implement recovery plans to meet milestones.
• Coordinate planning across engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Perform Critical Path Method analysis, schedule optimisation and resource planning.
• Produce weekly/monthly planning reports, S‑curves, manpower histograms, cash‑flow forecasts and earned‑value analysis.
• Provide schedule risk assessments and mitigation strategies to project management.
• Support offshore execution activities including installation campaigns, heavy lifting, marine operations, hook‑up, shutdown planning and commissioning.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with contractual schedule requirements.
• Participate in progress review meetings with clients and management, presenting status and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of planning and project controls experience in EPC/Oil & Gas projects.
• At least 5 years of proven offshore project experience, including platform, barge and Christmas Tree installations.
• Hands‑on experience in major EPC projects covering fabrication, offshore installation, hook‑up, commissioning and close‑out.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
