Linguistic Editor

About the role

The Linguistic Editor ensures accurate, consistent, and legally precise translation of documents between Arabic and English. Working closely with lawyers and legal advisors, the editor safeguards the integrity, intent, and legal meaning of a wide range of official materials.

Key responsibilities

• Translate legal studies, reports, presidential decisions, official correspondence, strategies, and periodical publications between Arabic and English while preserving legal terminology.
• Review and proofread all translated documents to guarantee linguistic accuracy, consistency, and alignment of both language versions.
• Edit official letters, reports, and other legal materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain uniform use of legal terminology across all documents, following established style guides.
• Collaborate with lawyers, legal advisors, and stakeholders to understand context and ensure relevance of translations.
• Assist in the translation and editing of periodical publications and strategic reports.
• Meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Arabic Language, English Language, Linguistics, Law or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of professional experience in Arabic‑English legal translation and linguistic editing.
• Experience within a regulatory authority, government entity, judicial organization or similar legal environment is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of translating and editing legal documents, official correspondence, policies, regulations and strategic publications.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in written Arabic and English.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and drafting principles in both languages.
• Excellent proofreading, editing and linguistic quality‑assurance abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret complex legal language while preserving meaning.
