Maintenance Technician - Hotel

About the role

A full-time, non-management maintenance position at a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel in Lusail, Qatar. The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs, and keeping the property running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines, and identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up after painting or repair work
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and guestroom items
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems
• Input air handler schedules and make temperature changes on computers
• Welcome guests, assist individuals with disabilities and follow company safety, security and quality standards

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting preferred
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus
• No supervisory experience required
• Driver's license required

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building basics
• Basic computer skills, including entering air handler schedules
