Medical Attaché – International Patient Coordination

About the role

The Medical Attaché acts as the primary liaison for Qatari patients receiving treatment abroad. Based in one of the designated overseas medical offices (Bonn, London, Thailand, Washington), the role ensures seamless coordination of medical, administrative, and logistical services throughout the patient’s journey.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany patients traveling abroad for treatment and provide on‑site support.
• Develop an annual plan to improve internal processes across administration, accounting, IT and services.
• Monitor medical, administrative and financial reviews for quality control.
• Provide patients with comprehensive information from arrival to departure.
• Select appropriate medical facilities and arrange transportation, visas and accommodations.
• Collect patient feedback, manage complaints and share insights with the department.
• Verify medical reports, invoices and sick‑leave documentation before payment.
• Maintain a database of patients, escorts, treatments and costs.
• Offer interpretation and translation services during medical consultations.
• Oversee daily allowances, medication procurement and travel logistics for return to Qatar.
• Prepare periodic performance reports for the Ministry of Public Health.
• Contract and supervise external service providers and oversee students/employees studying abroad.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health administration, international relations, medicine).
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work abroad and travel frequently.
