MEP CAD Operator – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MEP CAD Operator to produce and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings for oil & gas projects in Ras Laffan. The role involves creating shop, fabrication, coordination and as‑built drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update MEP shop, fabrication, coordination and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve drawing conflicts and ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control, material layouts and provide drafting support throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of MEP CAD drafting experience.
• Proven experience on oil & gas projects, preferably with QatarEnergy or Ras Laffan.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and project standards.
• Ability to work closely with mechanical, electrical, civil and structural teams.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Experience with Autodesk Navisworks or Revit MEP (advantage).
• Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire‑fighting and electrical systems, P&IDs, equipment layouts and utility drawings.
