MRAP C4I Technician (WEX-US)

About the role

The C4I Technician maintains the C4I systems installed in MRAP vehicles, following the C4I Supervisor's directives on access control and security, accounting for all computer hardware, radios and removable electronics, and giving technical advice on hardware, software and user issues. The role stays up to date on electronics upgrades as directed by the USAF and ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement and the Amentum ISO 9001 quality management system.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair MRAP C4I systems covering TACOM, ISRN, CREW and IED defeat systems
• Schedule preventive maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations and environmental conditions, and recommend changes to the C4I Supervisor
• Follow recon inspection and repair procedures and alert the supervisor to parts needed for mid-level repairs
• Ensure secure, limited-access storage of C4I equipment and perform serial-number checks for accountability
• Prepare and inspect vehicles and equipment for shipment, coordinate with Supply and attend training with the C4I Supervisor
• Monitor vehicle mechanics' work near sensitive electronics and provide over-the-shoulder training
• Perform other duties as assigned, in an office, maintenance shop or warehouse, possibly outdoors, wearing PPE

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of field experience as a C4I Senior Electronics Technician and/or Supervisor
• Valid home-country driver's licence and ability to obtain a host-nation licence; may need to operate material handling equipment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required)
• Able to lift 50 lbs, travel domestically and internationally, and tolerate loud environments
• Preferred: associates degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology

Required skills

• Proficiency with personal computers, Windows and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Knowledge of industry-standard software and peripherals, and of PC, network and communications systems
• Sound judgment in solving complex problems
