MYP English Teacher – IB Middle Years Programme

About the role

Etqan Global Academy, an IB World School in Doha, is seeking a passionate MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) to deliver concept‑driven instruction within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based Language & Literature lessons aligned with the MYP curriculum and global contexts.
• Design units of inquiry that integrate literature, language, intercultural perspectives and ATL skills.
• Assess student work using MYP criteria, provide constructive feedback, and support eAssessment preparation.
• Serve as Form Tutor, contributing to pastoral care and the wider school community.
• Collaborate with the English department and participate in school‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP setting.
• Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and eAssessment.
• Excellent literacy skills, a genuine passion for language, and effective classroom management.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
