Naval Architect – Drydock Specialist

About the role

The Naval Architect (Drydock) is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising vessel repair and maintenance activities in a shipyard environment. This role ensures technical integrity, safety and compliance with international standards throughout drydock projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review drydock specifications, repair scopes, technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate drydock schedules, vessel maintenance activities and project timelines.
• Conduct vessel inspections, structural assessments and hull condition evaluations.
• Supervise steel renewal, blasting, painting, machinery inspections and repair execution.
• Monitor marine engineering projects for safety, quality and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with shipyard teams, classification societies, contractors and vessel owners.
• Ensure compliance with IMO regulations, classification standards and marine safety procedures.
• Support offshore vessel operations, technical troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
• Assist in budgeting, cost estimation, material planning and technical procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field.
• Experience in drydock operations, ship repair or marine construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of ship structures, marine systems and offshore vessels.
• Familiarity with IMO regulations, classification society standards and marine safety requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership and analytical abilities.
