Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Specialist

About the role

A leading government organization in Qatar is seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Specialist to develop and continuously improve its occupational health, workplace exposure control and industrial hygiene programs. The role covers workplace health risk assessments, industrial hygiene surveys, exposure monitoring, health surveillance, incident investigation, control measures, workplace wellness, pandemic preparedness, compliance monitoring, KPI reporting and training.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and improve occupational health programs, policies and procedures in line with legislation, IMS, QHSSE requirements and organizational standards
• Lead industrial hygiene programs, including workplace inspections, exposure monitoring, health risk assessments and industrial hygiene surveys, and track corrective actions
• Coordinate occupational health surveillance programs and support medical coordination
• Develop and support wellness, disease prevention and pandemic preparedness programs, coordinating with healthcare providers
• Support investigations into occupational illnesses and hazardous exposures, and monitor closure of corrective actions
• Deliver occupational health and industrial hygiene training and provide technical guidance
• Maintain compliance procedures, monitor performance through data analysis and KPI reporting, and prepare reports on exposure monitoring, inspections and risk assessments
• Contribute to the HSE strategy, departmental plans, budgets, policies and systems, and support continuous improvement
• Provide technical guidance to employees and teams on health risks and safe work practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Medicine or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred
• 5-7 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role or level of responsibility
• Proficiency in English; Arabic preferred
