Package Manager – Engineering & Construction

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Package Manager to lead engineering packages within complex oil & gas and energy EPC projects. Reporting to the Project Director/Technical Manager, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver packages on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate package engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, define roles, delegate tasks, and support team development.
• Oversee engineering planning, progress monitoring, and reporting aligned with project milestones.
• Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and subcontractors, including technical bid evaluations and vendor follow‑up.
• Ensure adherence to HSE, QA/QC standards and international engineering codes.
• Support bidding and tendering activities, including cost estimation and technical documentation.
• Manage interfaces across disciplines to guarantee proper information flow and technical integration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge capitalization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering.
• 8–12 years of experience in engineering roles, preferably as a Package Engineer/Manager on oil & gas or EPC projects.
• Fluent English; additional languages (Italian, French, Arabic) are a plus.

Required skills

• Package engineering design and workflow knowledge.
• Engineering man‑hour estimation, cost control and budgeting.
• Vendor management, technical bid evaluation and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards, codes and HSE requirements.
• Subcontractor management and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with engineering software tools and document management systems.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
