Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator – Hook‑Up & Commissioning

About the role

The Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator will lead all PTW activities during the Hook‑Up and Commissioning (HUC) phase of oil & gas projects in Qatar. The role ensures that permits, isolations, risk assessments and safety procedures are aligned with project schedules and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the central point for all permits issued during Hook‑Up and Commissioning, supporting planning and execution in line with project deadlines.
• Verify PTW applications, isolations and risk assessments before submission, ensuring compliance with HSE and project standards.
• Quality‑check permits, supporting documents and certificates, obtaining all required approvals and signatures.
• Audit confined‑space entry, gas‑testing and isolation requirements to guarantee procedural compliance.
• Coordinate PTW activities across commissioning and completions teams to avoid clashes and manage SIMOPS.
• Prepare daily and weekly PTW reports and liaise with contractors and subcontractors on PTW matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of PTW coordination experience, including at least 5 years in oil & gas processing, petrochemical or construction environments.
• Extensive knowledge of PTW procedures, isolation design, confined‑space entry, gas‑testing protocols and commissioning processes.
• Proven experience on large EPC projects, both greenfield and brownfield, with exposure to FEED and execution phases.
• Strong organizational, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills, with fluency in English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
