Pharmacist – Qatar Airways Medical Division

About the role

The Company Pharmacist will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Qatar Airways Medical Division pharmacy, managing pharmaceutical stock and the preparation of medical kits for aircraft. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, Qatari law and the Pharmacy and Drug Control Authority while maintaining a secure chain of custody for all medical kits.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee QRMD pharmacy dispensary operations, ensuring industry‑standard pharmacy practices are followed.
• Manage Pharmacy Technicians’ daily tasks, including receiving, packing, refilling and certifying Medical Kits.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures to guarantee quality and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with Qatari law and Pharmacy and Drug Control Authority regulations during shift hours.
• Create and maintain an accurate database of stocked pharmaceutical items, enabling traceability and recall if required.
• Generate unique barcodes for pharmaceuticals and Medical Kits, preventing duplication.
• Coordinate with suppliers via Qatar Airways e‑sourcing and Oracle portal to secure pharmaceutical availability.
• Pack, refill, and certify Psychotropic and Narcotic substances in Emergency Medical Kits, ensuring secure hand‑over to Supply Chain.
• Maintain drug registry log‑books and produce hard‑copy reports as required by the Ministry of Public Health.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Pharmacy or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in pharmacy operations, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of Qatari pharmacy law and drug control regulations.
• Proven ability to lead a team of Pharmacy Technicians and manage complex inventory processes.

Required skills

• Experience with Oracle procurement or ERP systems.
• Ability to generate and manage barcode systems for inventory control.
