Procedures Editor – Oil & Gas Operations

About the role

The Procedures Editor will ensure that complex operational and maintenance instructions are clear, consistent, and compliant with company safety and quality standards. Working closely with technical writers and various operational departments, the editor translates technical content into user‑friendly documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and edit Operations Group procedures, standing instructions, and assessment packages in line with company policies, industry standards, and ISO 9000/14000 requirements.
• Proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, readability, and adherence to QatarEnergy LNG editorial guidelines.
• Verify technical facts, dates, and statistics; suggest revisions to improve clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Collaborate with the QGMS Documents Section to maintain standardized layout for intranet portals.
• Identify areas needing technical changes, assess impact on documentation, and support related training.
• Mentor technical writers by creating writing guides and best‑practice resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English Literature, Journalism, or a scientific discipline.
• Minimum six years of experience writing and editing oil‑ and‑gas operational procedures, including at least three years as a technical author.
• Self‑starter with the ability to anticipate and implement necessary changes.
