Public Policy Assistant / Associate Professor

About the role

The College of Public Policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University seeks qualified scholars to join its faculty as Public Policy Assistant or Associate Professors. The position involves teaching graduate courses, advancing research, and contributing to the College’s mission of developing ethically grounded public leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in public policy, public administration, governance, or related fields.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work, and seek external research funding.
• Teach assigned graduate courses and seminars, supervise graduate theses and research projects.
• Provide academic advising and supervise independent study activities.
• Participate in university and college committees, including chairing when appropriate.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program enhancement, accreditation processes, and quality assurance.
• Engage with the broader policy community through publications, conferences, and policy briefings.
• Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by the Dean or University.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or terminal degree in public policy, public administration, political science, governance, policy evaluation, or a closely related field.
• Relevant full‑time university teaching and research experience appropriate to the rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor).
• Evidence of scholarly productivity, teaching effectiveness, and professional development.
• Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in teaching, student supervision, and curriculum development.
