QA/QC Engineer – Instrumentation, Telecom & Fire & Gas

About the role

Airswift is seeking a senior QA/QC Engineer to support a major oil & gas operator on a multi‑billion onshore gas plant in Qatar. The role is a 24‑month fixed‑term contract, working onsite with an 8‑10 hour day schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support the contractor in preparing, reviewing and approving QA/QC documents such as ITPs, QCPs, test procedures and MARs in line with the construction programme.
• Conduct surveillance, inspection and testing activities for instrumentation, control, telecom and fire‑&‑gas systems, identify non‑conformances and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor and verify material test certificates, preservation management, calibration records and KPI performance of discipline inspectors.
• Participate in project QHSE audits, pre‑qualification audits of vendors and conduct compliance checks on ITP/QCP/MS processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years experience in construction of green‑field or brown‑field process plants (refinery, LNG, petrochemical) with overall responsibility for I&C quality.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (QCS, IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, NFPA, IOGP, Shell DEPs).
• Proven ability to lead discipline inspection teams and manage complex QA/QC issues on large oil‑and‑gas projects.
