QA/QC Inspector – Rotating & Static Equipment

About the role

The client is a major oil & gas operator seeking a QA/QC Inspector for a multi‑billion onshore gas plant in Qatar. This is a long‑term, 24‑month fixed‑term contract working onsite on both rotating and static equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement quality inspection procedures on construction activities, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and technical requirements.
• Carry out inspection, testing and witnessing activities for welding, NDT, painting and coating according to approved ITPs, and verify documentation, calibration certificates and qualification records.
• Monitor material receipt, storage, preservation and on‑site/off‑site fabrication, identifying non‑conformances and driving corrective actions.
• Support the functional supervisor in reviewing and approving quality documentation such as method statements, JHAs, QCPs and inspection & test plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 10‑15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas construction.
• Certifications: CSWIP 3.2 or AWS‑SCWI, BGAS Grade‑2 or NACE Level‑2 painting, NDT Level‑2 (RT, MT, UT, PT), and preferably API 510/653/580/963.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, AWS, ISO, BS EN, IOGP, Shell DEP, MESC).
• Hands‑on experience with inspection of static equipment (vessels, tanks, boilers, etc.) and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, fans, etc.) during erection, testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
