About the role
The Quality Inspector will oversee all QA/QC activities within the threading and machining facility, ensuring that machine components meet strict industry specifications. This onsite role supports efficient production by performing inspections, maintaining records, and collaborating with machinists and operators.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming materials against specifications.
- Inspect at least 10% of each threaded connection/part for compliance with drawings.
- Accept or reject machined/finished parts based on quality standards.
- Assist machinists with technical quality issues and arrange qualification/re‑qualification of premium connections.
- Use the GP portal for job authorizations, procurement forms, and calibration requests.
- Create and maintain daily activity logs, process paperwork, and quality records.
- Verify phosphate connections and perform daily titration according to work instructions.
- Control calibration cycles, calibrate gauges/instruments, and review calibration certificates.
- Conduct final inspections, issue certificates of conformity, and ensure accurate tubular tracking sheets.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; engineering diploma or degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting rotary shoulder connections (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, etc.) on drill pipe, HWDP, drill collars, or drill stem components.
- Strong command of English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Solid machine‑shop technical knowledge and ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
