Reliability Engineer I – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Reliability Engineer I will support a joint‑venture operating oil & gas facilities in Doha, Qatar. Working on‑site five days a week, the role involves analysing equipment performance, driving reliability improvements and influencing maintenance strategy for offshore and on‑shore assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and steward reliability improvement recommendations to enhance safety and field efficiency.
• Perform and coach Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies to optimise preventive maintenance plans.
• Produce monthly reliability reports using SAP S/4HANA, Smart Signal and other data sources.
• Analyse SECE performance data to adjust maintenance test frequencies and backlog priorities.
• Estimate equipment availability and reliability using ISO 14224 methods and Weibull++ (or similar) tools.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses (CTA or equivalent) and lead corrective action implementation.
• Support HSE investigations where technical failures contribute to incidents.
• Lead obsolescence studies and develop long‑term sustainability strategies for critical assets.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in reliability or maintenance engineering.
• Familiarity with ISO 14224 reliability data standards.
• Ability to work on‑site in Doha and travel offshore on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on incident‑free operations.

• MTBF, MTTF and failure‑rate calculations
• Root‑cause analysis techniques (CTA, etc.)
