Research Affairs Specialist – Grant Management

About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology is seeking a Research Affairs Specialist to lead the pre‑ and post‑award grant processes. This position supports faculty and business units in securing and managing research funding, ensuring compliance with university policies and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the entire grant lifecycle from proposal development to post‑award closeout.
• Advise faculty and staff on award procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with the Applied Research and Innovation (ARI) Academic Manager on submissions, budget preparation, and payment tracking.
• Act as liaison between faculty, funding agencies, and government bodies, reviewing and updating sponsor agreements.
• Coordinate proposal requirements, provide written feedback, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and promote university research initiatives.
• Assist with administrative forms and electronic systems to secure research funds.
• Prepare budget variance analyses, support audit activities, and ensure timely closeout of recommendations.
• Document and communicate award outcomes through reports and presentations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date databases and records of grant activities.

Required profile

• Experience managing pre‑ and post‑award grant processes in an academic or research setting.
• Familiarity with university policies, regulatory compliance, and sponsor agreements.
• Strong coordination and communication skills to work with faculty, external partners, and government agencies.
• Ability to prepare budgets, track payments, and support audit activities.
