Research & Strategy Manager – Product Development & Design

About the role

Join Qatar Airways' Product Development & Design Division as a Research & Strategy Manager. You will shape the future inflight product portfolio by driving insight‑led planning, market benchmarking and strategic analysis across cabin design, seating, IFE, connectivity and overall customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead competitive benchmarking, voice‑of‑customer analysis and macro‑environment scanning to create differentiated product positioning.
• Translate customer insights and industry trends into structured strategic recommendations, scenario plans and opportunity frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior leaders (SVP, VP, etc.) to support long‑term strategy formulation, cost justification and business case development.
• Develop comprehensive business cases for new cabin products, seating upgrades, IFE systems and connectivity enhancements, including detailed financial modelling and ROI analysis.
• Track emerging innovations and technologies across aviation, hospitality, tourism and lifestyle sectors to inspire future product directions.
• Drive qualitative and quantitative research initiatives such as surveys, focus groups and competitor analysis.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects, redefining processes, SOPs and KPIs to boost departmental efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading research and analytics teams in a product development or strategy context.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with senior executives and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to develop robust business cases, perform financial modelling and present strategic recommendations.
• Excellent analytical mindset and a passion for aviation‑related innovation.
