Runner-General

About the role

Le Meridien, part of Marriott International, is hiring a Runner-General for its hotel in Lusail, Qatar. Runners work across departments to make sure guests and staff have what they need at the moment they need it, whether delivering items directly to rooms or supporting housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants, the front office and other areas.

Key responsibilities

• Move items between departments and deliver them to guests in their rooms
• Support housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants, the front office and other areas that need assistance
• Ensure a safe workplace, follow company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality and uphold quality standards
• Keep a professional uniform, personal appearance and communication style

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required
• No license or certification required

Physical demands

• Standing, sitting or walking for long periods, and moving through narrow, confined or elevated spaces and up and down stairs and service ramps
• Reading and visually verifying information in various formats, including small print, and inspecting tools and equipment
• Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects of up to 55 pounds without assistance, reaching overhead and below the knees, and bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
