Safety and Security Specialist

About the role

The Safety and Security Specialist will be based at the North Oil Company head office in Al Wukair, providing permanent, residential support for the General Services division. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining best‑practice safety and security systems, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, operate, and maintain best‑practice safety and security strategies and systems for the General Services division.
• Produce safety and security reports and drive improvements to the HSEQ management system.
• Lead safety and security improvement initiatives to meet established goals.
• Monitor and manage contractor activities to satisfy site‑specific safety requirements.
• Support incident management, including emergency response, reporting, classification, investigation, and close‑out assurance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and contract partners to sustain an active contractor safety forum.
• Lead and supervise a team of 28 security guards across three shifts, covering the NOC tower and QP offices.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent with recent, relevant experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Strong report‑writing ability.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team on health‑and‑safety tasks.
• Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in an international, multicultural environment.
• Understanding of incident investigation and learning processes.
• Minimum 5–8 years of safety and security experience, preferably in high‑rise buildings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience using electronic reporting systems.
