About the role
The Sanitary Sewer Systems Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, inspecting and repairing sanitary sewer infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient wastewater management. The role requires a Secret clearance and involves extensive field work, including emergency response and coordination with contractors and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair and inspect sanitary sewer lines, manholes, lift stations and related wastewater infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing and sewer issues such as blockages, leaks and pipe failures.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce emergency repairs and service disruptions.
- Operate and maintain equipment including jetting trucks, vacuum trucks, video inspection cameras and pipe locators.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local wastewater treatment and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities and repairs.
- Respond to emergency sewer service calls, including after‑hours incidents.
- Collaborate with team members, contractors and the public to coordinate work safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including confined‑space entry and hazardous‑materials handling.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Master or Journeyman Plumber certification.
- Minimum five years of experience in wastewater or sanitary sewer systems.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment, sewer maintenance procedures and plumbing codes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, blueprints and schematics.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; U.S. passport preferred.
- Eligibility to meet USCENTCOM deployment requirements and obtain a Qatar residency visa.
- Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions and travel 100% to deployed locations.
- DoD Secret clearance (must be maintained).
