Second Commis Chef – Lounges & Premium Operations

About the role

The Second Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in Qatar Airways Lounges, ensuring high‑quality food preparation and service. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, premium hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily shift tasks according to standard operating procedures.
• Assist the line manager with kitchen set‑up, ingredient sourcing and equipment preparation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and communicate it to customers during service.
• Coordinate with the First Commis Chef and Chef de Partie, providing updates on service and food issues.
• Report faulty kitchen items and equipment for escalation.
• Participate in menu preparation, food presentation and plating.
• Liaise with stores and other departments to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Entry‑level candidate with no prior job‑related experience required.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues.
