Secondary English Teacher – IGCSE & AS Level

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher to join Awfaz Global School in Doha from August 2026. The role involves delivering the British Curriculum for Key Stage 3 through IGCSE and AS/A Level, fostering confident communicators and critical thinkers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the British Curriculum.
• Teach across Key Stage 3, IGCSE and AS/A Level classes.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations, ensuring strong academic outcomes.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and classroom engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on curriculum development and school improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
• Participate in school events, meetings, duties and professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching the British Curriculum, including IGCSE and AS/A Level English.
• Strong understanding of secondary English teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
• Experience in a multicultural school environment (preferred).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the British Curriculum for English.
• Familiarity with IGCSE and AS/A Level examination requirements.
